The livelihood of nearly 2000 workers are on the line. To close the works would rip the heart out of the entire community and must be averted at all costs. All avenues to make it a viable business have to be explored. The government must re-consider the Company request for a temporary loan to keep the business afloat. The North East can not afford to lose another major industry

I grew up in Middlesbrough. Most of the 11 schools I had in when we moved around the country such as London, Leeds, Bolton, Paisley, Newbury, St Helens & Liverpool had steel girders which were made in the steel works when it was Dorman & Longs. There's too much at stake here to let this plant die. Where are the children in the area going to find jobs, when the Government give up on the NorthEast YET AGAIN!!!!!
