A way forward has to be possible, the high quality jobs and specialist training and skills that the steel works and its suppliers support are crucial for teesside, the northern powerhouse and the country.

Save or steel. I'm not a steel worker or have family that work there, but I know and understand the devastating the closing of this will be and have on the whole of teesside.

As someone whose grandfather and great uncles worked all their working lives involved in the steel process and helped to make the steel for the Sydney Harbour Bridge and other iconic constructions, I feel passionate about keeping steelmaking on Teesside.
If this ends it will have a massive knock-on effect on the whole area, with not just immediate families but smaller businesses als feeling the impact.
I hope that this is understood and recognised by the powers that can do something to help - they wouldn't be just helping this proud industry but the survival of a community.
