My husband worked for British Steel at the Research Lab, lackenby and Redcar plant before we left the UK. British Steel has many areas world wide that used the steel they made at these locations. Also when we visited Australia we happened to drop in to a museum that was showing how the Sydney Harbour bridge was built with BRITISH STEEL. This is a life line for those who still live in the North

Come on Government, show some common sense. Please stop the decimation of our land. Yes, you have "difficult decisions" to make, but WE, deluded by what we were led to believe were your honourable intentions, WE (well, some of us!) voted for you to lead us. Woe and lack-a-day! Never again - unless you stop and really think about the consequences of your actions if you close steelmaking on Teesside. Haven't you noticed the decline in Britain's economy, much of it due to closing down our industries. No wonder we are no longer GREAT Britain. How can anyone take pride in their work if they have no work? "You have to invest to accumulate" is a very worthy old adage. Wake up to reality PLEASE.

Disgraceful. You are only interested in milking the country dry, whilst you and your cronies make loads of money for yourself. You are so unbelievable.

This sort of industry is exactly what our country needs, and it is a vital employer in the local community. Come on government, support this "Northern Powerhouse"!

This is a skill and a community that we can't just let die. We need to support the Teeside workers and their proud heritage. We are a great and creative Country famed for seeing past problems and discovering possibilities. It may be challenging - but there must be a way.

The Northern Powerhouse is nothing more than a gimmic and a scam. It cost more to have people unemployed than it does to have them in work. Every other country in the world helps it's industries exept Britain. Please act now save British Steel manufacturing.
