I feel that it is about time that the government starts to investigate how many companies have been taken over via foreign investment, subsequently contracts transferred to the parent company and then eventually the company UK branch or organisation closed down deeming it is no longer financially viable. This should take place immediately!
The other interesting item to note is that two of reasons for moth balling is:
1) prices in theUK are more expensive compared to overseas, this has been the case for so long yet contracts can still be won! .... Seems like it's more about removing a competitor through acquiring an organisation and then closing them down and then blaming the host countries way of living.
2) the other argument is that utilities costs such as electricity are too high, in an environment whereby the majority of our utilities companies are owned via foreign investment. Are we not at the mercy of our own destiny as a country? It seems that this case is not the first, and surely will not be the last!

This is vital to the whole area. The loss of this industry and the dependent jobs will devastate the area for this and many future generations.

The closure of the steelworks will obviously be terrible for the workers & their families, but will also have a very negative effect on the whole area. I hope it can be saved!

I hope just one politition can take a serious look at the plight of this Iconic industry on teeside. I'm sixty years old now and remember Redcar as a boy as my Nan and Grandad lived there and me and my sister used to go there and stay I also became slowly aware of the then bouyant industries ICI at Wilton and the Dorman Long steelworks (as was) at Redcar. Im rooting for you all. All my best wishes Mike Howells and family (now living in Cornwall ) xxxx

Mr Cameron this government can spend millions of pounds on a prison in Jamaica, money for football pitches in China yet has no time for a steel plant in Redcar. I live in Kent and I am a Tory voter this is wrong so sort it out. Its about time we started to secure whats left of British Industry. Shame on you and your party.

Mr. Cameron and your government, please don't let this plant fold! It's cheaper to step in and nationalise it - and get a return on your investment - than pay ongoing welfare monies for the next 50 years for the workers, who'll NEVER get another job again up there and then for their descendants, who'll suffer the same lack of opportunities.
Don't just dismiss this out of hand. Doing that would guarantee more than enough Labour votes up in the North to cause you serious concerns at the next election.
I have to say though that it would please me greatly to see you and yours out on your ears. Jeremy Corbyn has more honesty, integrity and backbone in his nail clippings than you and your government have in all of your lies, pervesripns and utter disregard for human beings in this nation of ours. I can't lie and say I like you all cos I don't. I did once when Maggie was in power. But she had backbone and "wasn't for turning" and Jeremy Corbyn is as determined, if not more so than her.
