My Grandfather/father worked there all their lives. the people of this area class it as their livelyhood and rightly so.

Teesside and the north easts people need this industry. It has been part of our heritage for a very long time. Don't take this away from our people whose livelihoods, families and future depend on it.

Teesside has been at the heart of British industry since the 1800's. We made the steel to build the vessels which carried it not just nationwide, but Worldwide! Structures built from Teesside Steel still stand the test of time today and shall for centuries to come. In this ever increasing world there is still a vast need for this industry. Are we really going to roll over and dismiss our great workforce to defeat by the likes of China? Are we not a valued member who are needed within the European Union? Would our fellow European neighbours not back the UK as we have done on European issues within the World economy and as is always expected of us? We have a hardworking and proud workforce here in the North-East... generations upon generations of families with strong working class roots whose lives are in turmoil now because of the uncertainty of their livelyhoods, let alone the devastating impact this could potentially have for this area and the UK for a long, long time to come. It's time to support the people of Teeside and the industry of the North... it's time to SAVE OUR STEEL !!

This is so important to an area deprived of investment for many years, unlike the South East has so many mega projects ongoing a lot funded by the government and UK wide collected taxes !
