The steel industry is at the heart of Teesside; please do not stand by and watch the steelworkers, their families and local business suffer - they need your support.

The government bailed out the banks. Now it is time to find a fraction of that to support an economy vital to a modern economy.

The loss of this plant would be devastating to the area, please don't let another industry go in Britain.

My family all hail from Teesside. My (late) mum and gran being from Saltburn and my dad from loftus. Since birth I travelled due to my dads job but returned in 1975 when I was 8. The reason for us moving was that dad worked on the rebuilding of Redcar Steelworks when he was with John Laing Construction. It makes me proud that he played a part in our heritage. Whilst I lived in Markse nearly everyone I knew was connected with either British Steel or ICI Wilton - those people pretty much gave their all. This is a said day for steel making on Teesside...but it will never die. All my respect and best wishes to those directly affected. Keep the faith. Shaun

Why is this happening again? We seem to pump money into foreign firms who take the cash and run they need to pay back and go WHERE IS THE NORTHERN POWER HOUSE YOU PROMISED?
