I served my apprenticeship with TTE, a collaboration of British Steel and ICI back in the early 90's. SSI is an important part of the North East industry and it would be a tragedy to see it closed down!

I am pleased to here that there are still members of the public that care about our historical Teesside steel. For the last 150 years we have provided many jobs and great experience's within the community and it is a great shame to learn about the saddening news that it could be the start of something tragic like the men losing their jobs because the government will not even consider to help us when we are in need, It is all very upsetting that the government is putting other countries first before their own and are sweeping the homeland problems aside. As I am one of these work men that has worked in the steel industry for the last 40 years, I would have imagined I shouldn't have to fear of losing what I and thousands of other contractors have worked for the majority of there life's to be crushed because the government can't or wont help because we're on the wrong side of the Watford gap. It warms my heart that the northern public is standing up for the steel workers ONCE AGAIN!

Steel production is part of Tesside's history and provides many jobs in an area where unemployment is already high

Save Teesside not just the steel because if the steel goes so do all the peoples livelihoods and along with that goes the infrastructure of the Teesside area. Good luck everyone
