Four Steel Works in the Black Country shut in 1980's. result - town centres still boarded up in 2015!!!

I used to work as a contractor at Corus Redcar and was offered a position there. I declined as i would have to move my family and found a position at Corus in Thryrbergh, Rotherham 7 years later now owned by TATA I am facing redundancy because the fuel cost's make the manufacture of steel un-profitable. The government will not listen, Germany gives subsidies to the German steel industry to offset fuel costs and make them profitable. The common market?

Please please keep our men in jobs to provide for our families. Other wise Teesside is finished, the knock on effect of our steel works closing will crucify Teesside businesses.

We need the furnace back to keep this area a live. Without it, not only will it be the end of Steel making. It will be the for a lot of small businesses.
