Stamshaw Junior School is changing to an academy. I am a parent of children at Stamshaw Junior School and I am very concerned about how the whole process has been handled.

We have not been listened to from the start. We just want to know if the best is being done for our children and no one will give us the answers.

174 stakeholders have been balloted asking whether they are FOR converting to an academy with Portswood, I don't know or that they would like the IEB to look for an alternative.

3 parents voted FOR

48 stakeholders voted for an alternative

123 parents voted for an alternative

Staff were balloted separately and 37 staff were balloted. A total of 36 voted against.

We are not against the school changing, what we are objecting to is the way Portsmouth City Council (PCC) and the Interim Executive Board (IEB) is treating the teachers and parents over the proposed change.

We have been lied to twice now by PCC. We asked about the school federating with Stamshaw Infant School and the answer from the IEB and PCC was that the governor of the infants turned it down flat.

Mrs cooper attended the last consultation meeting and said "Stamshaw Infants wanted to federate with the Junior School." Jo Cooper (Head of Infants)

But PCC said no. We were told by Julien Kramer, interim head of education at Portsmouth City Council that Mr Cattermole had removed for his position.

The parents and teachers got told in a letter last year he had retired.

No one is listening to us. We just want to know the truth and what is best for our children.

Please sign our petition to help us get the answers.
