Powys County Council finally admitted they were wrong and withdrew the plan to shut our school. We forced them to keep St Joseph's open by refusing to back down against their short sighted agenda. Keep your eyes on these bureaucrats because we are not going anywhere.

Help Save St Joseph's RC Primary School in Brecon. Please sign to show your support. There is also a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-St-Josephs-RC-Primary-school-Brecon/252807801494925 This is a small Catholic school although it welcomes children of other faiths and of none. St Joseph's has strong links with the local community and a place where the children learn to care for each other and show mutual respect while the teachers have high expectations for each child. On the 11th June 2012 a meeting was held where proposals were discussed about closing the school at the end of the 2013 term due to the low numbers of pupils. We as parents, teachers, friends and pupils will try our hardest to keep the school going and promote it to the wider community to improve the numbers and allow future generations to benefit from this school. Your signature on this petition might just help us to save the school and allow us to show to Powys County Council what it means to not just the local community but hopefully from many people across Wales and the UK, thank you for your time.

Powys County Council cannot ignore the growing tide of people demanding they keep our doors open. This momentum proves that our community refuses to let them dismantle our children's future without a fight.

Absolutely gutted to hear this. St Joes is a brilliant little school and it would be a shame to see it go.

My kids went here and they loved it. Small schools are where kids get the most attention. Leave St Josephs alone!

WHY are they targeting small schools again? Leave them be.

Ridiculous decision. This is a vital part of Brecon and closing it would be a huge loss to the town. Keep it open!
