I converted to Catholicism in part because my wife and I were for a very long time attending the monthly healing masses at St. Elizabeth of Hungary. These masses have been faithfully given and attended by a dedicated core group of Catholics. We have also been very moved by the power and beauty of the masses being held for the Deaf Community at St. Elizabeth of Hungary. We have attended a number of these masses for the Deaf and feel very welcome at them, despite the fact that we are able to hear. Fr. McCahill is deeply and lovingly present for his parishioners, and he "speaks" the mass while he does it in sign language for the Deaf. As a “hearing” person, it is truly amazing to be able to be a part of this, and it would be a sin to close St. Elizabeth's.

My great uncle was Msgr. Andrew Dvoracky and although I no longer live in New York, I try to visit St. Elizabeths when I'm in town. It was the site of many very special church and family memories and should it close, I will miss it terribly. I would lke to know of the plans / mass schedule should it close in July.

Such a beautiful church and parish. I attended regularly when I lived on the UES and still journey in from Brooklyn every now and then to attend. Father McCahill is truly gifted with the homilies he delivers and inspires true reflection into one's faith in Christianity. I've also had the privilege of attending a Mass conducted in sign language and was quite impressed with Father McCahill's efforts in engaging the deaf community and the large number of parishioners in attendance. Please allow St. Elizabeth of Hungary to remain open so that it can continue its Spiritual reach to all the citizens of NYC.

20 years ago, our daughter, Ju8liane was baptized on easter sunday andit was a beautiful ceremony, in conj with easter mass. It was done in sign language with my entire family attended.

I sure think that no church deserves to ever be closed. When we close a church, we close down History, memories, mysticism and the endless lives that a church has touched upon. Sure, there are more solutions than simply and easily closing a spiritual community, we just have to put our Faith in the Lord and we will sure find better solutions to our challenges.
