St. Charles Borromeo School is a historical building and a private K-8 Catholic school that has been serving the Mission District community in San Francisco for over 125 years.
Due to low enrollment and an expensive construction budget that has not been met for a seismic retrofitting project, we are being forced to suspend operations at the end of June 2017. But with your help, we can petition to the Archdiocese of San Fransisco to maintain operation of St. Charles School and request an extension of time for requirements to be met. With your support, we can to continue to serve our loving San Francisco community through faith and education for future generations.

This school has served the community for over a century! Countless students, staff, and teachers have created a positive impact on our community at this school. Our students at USF have contributed to this impact as well through a weekly tutoring program, because St. Charles Borromeo School is an integral part to the larger San Francisco community. Please consider maintaining the operation of St. Charles School to continue empowering our young people and providing them a quality education!
Tuve la bendición de tener a mis hijas en esta escuela y la guía espiritual, la enseñanza cristiana ha sido y es una base para mis dos hijas en la educación de la Fe.
Let us ask God to keep the school open for all of those who once attended and are attending school. Students that have attended St. Charles will remember through their life time that this might have been the first place where they hear the love God has for his children through the church as well as school.
I am a tutor at St. Charles through my University. I have been working with students here for 3 years and I have been able to see my students grow from third grade to fifth grade. Teaching here and feeling a sense of community every time I go in inspired me to follow my dreams and change my major so I could enroll in my school's master's program for teaching. My students continue to inspire me as a future educator, and this wonderful community deserves to keep their school, which has become their home.
I have worked with St. Charles and it's children for 4 years and I believe it should be given an extension for another chance to improve enrollment and raise funds for the seismic retrofitting project. The community of students, staff, parents, and other loving supporters of the school creates a supportive and loving environment for the students that is unlike any other school I know. The children of St. Charles deserve a chance to keep their school open.

I've been tutoring at this school for about three years and I have seen the positive impact that this school has had on all the students, parents, and staff, creating a great community at St. Charles.
