One would like to think that Sunderland Council will listen to the voice of its tax-paying constituents. The proposed development is yet another threat to our greenbelt. One would hope that the decision makers will take into account the feelings of the people of the community. Or is just about making property developers rich? Will the Council listen to the views of local people?

It's time the builders left the greenbelt alone and started to develope the brownfield sites.......there's only so much greenbelt land for people and wildlife to enjoy and once it's gone, it's gone. Developing a brownfield site would improve the community for the residents of any area, not just springwell, but they insist on putting profit first..

My mum (and other family) lived in Springwell Village for many years and we've witnessed many changes, with a lot of the surrounding fields being built on. Enough is enough

there's no need for more houses in the village, as any further increase of houses will result in a large urbanised area rather than the strong community there is now!

Roads not built for the extra volume of traffic, it is already a rat run if there is an accident on the motor way. We already have the dust from Thomsons quarry being transported throughout the main road due to traffic, who knows how bad it could be with an increase in volume!

Just one planning application approved will start the rot and the builders will move in and destroy any greenbelt land they can find and all in the name of profit

You should never build on greenbelt land when there are other alternatives. People live in this village as a matter of choice and respect the enviroment. Leave the village alone.
