Lived in Springwell Village for almost 17 years, love the feel of being in a village and would like to keep it this way. Being surrounded by green belt gives us a feeling of being rural and should be kept this way. The village has sustained itself for well over 100 years as it stands and I'm sure it will continue to be sustainable without further development, which to me would put strain on our already busy roads.

SAVE OUR GREENBELT already to much traffic going through the village, speeding, racing to get through traffic calming and parking on the main road to go to the paper shop opposite a junction and blocking the bus stop and zebra crossing will only get worse with the introduction of more houses in the village

I have lived in the village for 3 years and recently bought my first house here. I chose the village as the location for my first home because of the village feel, the wonderful community spirit and the gorgeous countryside surrounding the village. If the development goes ahead, the village and community feel will be lost and the countryside diminished. The very essence that is Springwell village and the character it holds will be lost. It wouldn't be the place I have come to know and love and it would be an absolute shame.

I ride and keep my horse near the village. The traffic is bad enough as it is and the roads were never designed to take the traffic it's struggling with now!

I was drawn to Springwell Village because of its cute village feel, developing on this land will effectively merge the village with surrounding estates and this charm will be lost. Before moving I researched Sunderland Council's plans for the villahe, the unitary development plan clearly states the village should be protected and enhanced, I fail to see how 500 new homes on green belt land is protecting, or enhancing the village. Hopefully the planning officers will refer to the document and reject and application.
