Please keep the fountain, that area does not need more construction. The county is ruining Bethesda as we speak. Try getting the purple line done and stop adding more construction. And 20 N/B is a horror at rush hour. Leave the plaza alone. Also, we need relief for most of 29 north and south. People need out door space to relax. So many european cities have plazas and they are wonderful.

Why remove it? It’s art not an eyesore! Let the children continue to enjoy it. By the way, I grew up in Silver Spring.

Getting rid of a family-friendly fountain is really stupid; it brings people into downtown SS. And putting astroturf on a street? That's worse than stupid, given what we know about artificial turf.

I worked in SS for over 20 years and that fountain has brought me joy nearly every day when I walk downtown. It would be a shame to see something that brings so many people, families and children joy gone! And for what? More turf? There’s already a field of it. You don’t need more.

This fountain has been a staple of Downtown Silver Spring since I was a teen, and the strip has long been a safe place for local kids to skate. Both of them should be kept!

The fountain is really nice and the turf would not be as nice. I kindly ask that you do not remove it.

This was my 4yo daughter’s favorite place to go before COVID. A bright spot on hot summer afternoons for lots of kids around town.

Art should not be so expendable.

Save the fountain! Keep some skateboard-friendly areas and access for deliveries and farmer's market stalls. The area gets too much traffic for natural grass, so some astroturf may be OK.
