Never close a public course
The enjoymemt for many outweighs shutting it down
Especially when the land will just be then sold off for houses
Find the money elsewhere
Get jobs done once at the right cost and not three times as usual council work is

Would be a real shame and loss for the town, the golf course and family corner bring people to St. Helens. I visit the park regularly with my grandson and my partner and son play golf at least twice per week there.

Looks like our petition on the save sherdley park municipal golf course and constant reminders about all this being done behind closed doors has opened the councils eyes to the depth of public feeling about the course and also pets corner, we have had confirmation that a public meeting will now be held at the town hall at 4.00pm on wednesday 22nd february! to discuss a way forward or to listen to the councils reasons behind recent decisions? we all feel that this is the correct procedure and represents a chance to air our views. its also nice to see that the council of st helens does recognise the need to discuss this with the people of st helens, and that they are prepared to listen to us, hate to say it as i have been very critical of them, but well done to them.

Do a proper cost benefit analysis and see the value & enrichment this brings to the community! You are making a deprived town more poor. Look at other ways to fund it (lease it or charge for entry fee or to feed the animals - yes get round the loopholes to do this). Look at Acorn Farm in Kirkby it's very similar but financially self sufficient. In other word St Helens Council do your job of serving the St Helens public as we want our Sherdley Park & Pets!

Have 3 young children and fond memories of taking them around pets corner over the years, with every child you could see the decay in the place as no investment, I also play golf and have fond memories of playing golf with my friends and colleagues and especially one friend who sadly passed very young who we used to go every week at least and had proper laughs with. Don't do it St Helens Council we will end up with nothing left at this rate the town centre is already a Joke and I go to Warrington and Widnes don't let it be the same for the park and Golf.

Ridiculous and total disgrace the park is by far the biggest and should be the best in the area but it's not and this will be death sentence for sherdley no investment from the council rather spend it on Xmas lights what a joke but the public can have the last laugh and vote this backward selfish pathetic council out when the time comes labour or tory etc it does nt matter who they are they are rubbish so let's get rid .
Why do the children have to suffer again
