I leaned to play Golf at Sherdley park. I couldn't have afforded to join Grange Park with a joining fee of about £1000 and then ia annual fee of £800. Sherdley was £9 a round. It was a beautiful course this was in 1990. I joined the newly formed ladies section.
I thought we had gone through this before when a Japanese company wanted to buy Sherdley Golf Course. I understand it was found that the Deeds prevented the council from doing this, as in a previous comment stated the park was donated for the people of the town. My mum used to take my children to the park while I was working, and I don't know what happened to the annual St Helens show? Everything that was good in St Helens seems to be disappearing.
Warrington/ Widnes are growing while St Helens seems to be going down and down. What ever is happening? There are new sites with offices and wRehouses which seem to be empty why build more? Fill them. As to houses what about the houses started in and around Baxters lane and Washway Lane, why not finish those before taking more land? Having had dealings with St Helens planning department I would question anything they are doing. Maybe they don't live in St Helens! Leave Sherdly Park alone. Put some money into it and you will get money back.

I grew up in St Helens until the age of 11 and I have so many memories at Sherdley Park and all of its areas. It was and still is a lovely Park, so please don't close these areas down.

This Place is so important to the little ones. It's normally their first interaction with other animals and a great local place for parents to meet as a group

We live literally 5 minutes from sherdley park and spend at least 3 days a week in pets corner. My little boy is 2 and is currently being assessed for autism and adhd. He has a massive obsession with animals, and gets such enjoyment from going to see those animals so much through the week. Rain or shine we are always there. It would be such a shame to see it go.

It's so important for health and well being of people and children. No matter what age, or income or ability pet's corner and the golf course makes good things accessible to us all. Was always so proud that st Helens council cared about local people's lives. Donot get rid of these assets
