If the facts that have been released are true - massive cocaine intoxication, alcohol intoxication, violent history, restraining order by mother of child, showing up unrequested at hotel room - then there must be a fair and quick resolution to this criminal case. If mr. Hapgood was wrongfully accused, and it certainly appears that way, then the charges should be speedily dismissed and either the island or the hotel corporation, or both, should pay all of his expenses plus lost income from work, etc. Something good should come of this. Dismiss the charges, reimburse Mr. Hapgood, and then the island of Anguilla and the hotel chain should also donate money to a local drug rehab center or a youth center or something similar on the island. Dismiss, reimburse, do something positive to acknowledge the mistakes made.
