Scott Hapgood is the best friend, father, husband, coach, team leader, community contributor and worker I know. He is my gold standard for the man I want to be. I’ve been best friends with him for 12+ years and I’ve never seen an angry side. Never see. Him lose composure. ALWAYS has his head straight and does the right thing. Wants to do the right thing. His morals and values are admirable. He was chosen as my daughters God Father because that who I trust to take care of my children if I am not around. He is consistent, dependable, reliable, noble, trustworthy, loyal and dedicated to being of service to his family and his friends. When I had no where to turn when I was suffering from anxiety and depression and was facing the saddest time in my life Scott was there to help lift me up. Physically and emotionally. Always opened his home to me and my family where we would spend family weekends and holidays. He leads a simple life. Basic. Family, friends, togetherness and providing a healthy and nurturing environment for those around him. I love this man like a brother. He is not a killer. He is a victim of awful circumstance where he faced a criminal who wanted to do him and his children harm and he defended himself. He is a victim. And should be freed of these legal proceeding so he can be left in peace to start healing from these events and treatment. He is a great man. The best. And our government needs to help. Since the autopsy report says he died from a Cocaine overdose I feel as Congressmen it is your duty to help a citizen of your state.

A father protecting his children from an armed intruder is a natural act of protection and love. I am very concerned about the level of misinformation that has been promoted by the current island magistrate. May the truth be the light which shines on this innocent family .

This case is one of the most absurd instances I have ever heard of injustice. Scott did nothing more than defend his children from a brutal attack in a place they were supposed to be making memories as a family. The attacker entered their room uninvited and under the influence (which medical reports also later concluded was the cause of his death). The fact this family has to endure this unimaginable nightmare and all the tremendous emotional and financial strain that comes along with it multiple trips back to a dangerous and hostile destination is absurd. This was a crime against an American citizen, we demand as taxpayers those appointed to protect our interest do everything possible to right the way this family has been wronged.
