I believe that Mr. Hapgood was defending himself and his family from a cocaine fueled robbery attempt. The situation makes no sense: the sink wasn't broken and no one called a repairman. Have we all lost common sense.

This poor man should be cleared of any wrong doings and should NEVER have to step foot on that island again!

Hey Anonymous, making comments about white privilege. Don't you have the stones to post under your real name?

This seems like a clear cut case of a criminal being treated like the victim, rather than the true victims being recognized at all. This family was away on vacation in a foreign country and was being robbed in their own hotel room. The criminal died from a cocaine overdose, rather than self-defense injuries (whatever he may have sustained while stabbing Scott with a knife)...how was this even possibly Scott's fault. I hope that this family finds justice in all of this, and restitution for the emotional distress that they have suffered at the hands of a corrupt countries political government.

This was such a horrible injustice. An incredibly kind man that never asked for this and never asked for service in his hotel room that day. Let’s not forget that this armed, drug induced person with a questionable background came knocking on HIS door. For what reason?? Nothing- but malicious intentions. Scott Hapgood is a great friend and neighbor. He also coached my daughter a couple of years ago along with her 5th grade teammates. Not only was he the most dedicated and caring coach -he was incredibly generous of his time and sincere commitment to the girls well-being. He truly cared about their experience and wanted nothing more than to make every girl feel like they contributed to the team. He would take the time to write a caring and lengthy email after every game. He also always dedicated a team ball after every game and made sure that EVERY player received one regardless of their ability. This is a man that you see in town and you give a huge and warm embrace NOT the cruel mid judgement he is receiving now in certain parts of this oblivious world. This is the person and dad we know that would defend the people he loves that might be in harms way. Nothing more to it. I’ve been told I am a great judge of character so trust me when I tell you this is INJUSTICE for this great man and his family in the truest definition of the word.
