Scotland County Pharmacy has treated me with dignity and respect and is very helpful with explaining my medications. They should be the only pharmacy for a town of less than two thousand. The hospital is like another entity in this, to run everything.

Hi Stefanie. Thank you for commenting. The people of Scotland County do have other choices as there is another pharmacy that delivers to our area, Wal-Mart will mail scripts, mail order companies, etc. Adding a pharmacy at the hospital, I believe, will actually take jobs from us. Scotland County Pharmacy has a large staff of around 25 if I remember correctly. A corporate pharmacy will not staff that many people. If a small percentage of business is lost to the new pharmacy, our small community pharmacy will have to start letting people go to stay afloat. Anything above that could cause closure of the pharmacy altogether. Thank you again!

I support business ethics and social responsibility whole-heartedly. Giving the people freedom of choice falls in this but at what cost? Another pharmacy could add jobs but what is the effect on this free standing pharmacy and its employees?

I think opening a pharmacy in the hospital will hurt our local pharmacy causing us to lose jobs and the support time wish and donation wise in our community!

This would be detrimental to our little community that has come love the local hometown pharmacy and the McKee's and all they do for our kids and the school. No other pharmacy would care about our community like they do.
