I have seen the first hand effects Sankofa has had on the students at Kensington CAPA high school. Our entire school family can greatly feel the absence of the Sankofa program both on an academic and more profoundly on an emotional level. Our students deserve and thrive on the motivation and hope the Sankofa brotherhood provided.

Sankofa is very helpful for our young men of color; they need the encouragement and support that Sankofa has to offer.

It is imperative that we maintain programs that provide our youth with positive alternatives which positively impact the realization and fulfillment of their dreams. This program was doing just that...

I have witnessed the positive, life transforming impact Sankofa Passages has had on the lives of young men who traditionally have been overlooked, negelcted and misunderstood in public education. As an educator who works specifically with young men of African-American and Latino ancestry, Sankofa Passages is the education that all young men across the nation, need and deserve.

This program was a great benefit to our school. We are sad to see it go and would love to see it back. The students need this program.

this is a program with proven success - so while the Obama administration creates programs, ones that work are eliminated ... makes no sense

Save this program! If they really knew the karma Sankofa taught our ancestors they would not dare replicate this tragedy.
