Sandy Hook Elementary School was voted to be demolished. While it is agreeable that the school should no longer be used for education as it is a building that holds pain for a lot of people, I feel we can do more for the school and the community. I propose that we, instead of destroying the school, make it into a shrine, or more accurately, a memorial, for the victims lost on December 14, 2012. Have the rooms be each dedicated to one of the twenty six victims lost that day. A room where visitors can learn and read about the twenty children who were robbed of their lives, and the six faculty members who gave their lives for their students. Have the building be a place of reflection, remembrance. Not a building of sorrow and depression.
