As we gradually erode away our heritage we have little to show our children and our children's children.

I grew up in Plymourh, now live in Cornwall, travel on the trains often. Stations like these shoyld be preserved, and become in use again for altwrnative uses. Heritage centre? Community use? Multi use building.....

This station is an important to Saltash and ite residents. We need to keep it for the community and not let an individual benefit alone.

it would be a travesty to destroy Brunel's buildings in the sight of his Masterpiece. Why do we always put short term gain first?

This lovely old Victorian station deserves to be saved and used. To be the focal point of rail users and Saltash visitors in Cornwalls first railway town. For it to become a cafe, with maybe office space and public space, would be a fine testament to our to railway heritage. Inspired and in respect of the Iconic British engineer I K Brunel. Please don't let it be demolished and replaced by modern townhouses. Get behind the Petition and help us to Save Our Station..

As a Cornishman who now lives in England (Devon), it saddens me that the Philistines are knocking at the Gateway to Cornwall.

This building is of significant historical importance to the town and should be restored and preserved as so. There are a number of functions that this building could serve, some of which would encourage further visitors to the town/surrounding areas and thus would also benefit the local economy. To demolish this building and redevelop the area would be pure desecration for the sake of quick profit, something that should not encouraged in this town. We need to preserve and honour the history of this location and the contribution it played to the development of Saltash, such as been done with other buildings/locations of importance.

I agree entirely with the comments on the petition. It is outrageous that anyone should even consider replacing this structure with yet more private housing!

If this is allowed to happen,we will look back in years to come and question why nothing was done to save Saltash Station.

I understood that the use of the redundant building as a museum has been suggested before and I was sorry to hear that it had seemingly fallen through.
