Save Rural Gig Harbor: No Luxury Resorts on Olson Drive

ABSOLUTELY WRONG for this area !

We are against this development. It is not at all appropriate for the location in rural Gig harbor. The owners of this business have tried to slip this through while no one was paying attention during COVID and it is WAY too dense for the area. Gig Harbor needs to stop this type of rampant development in urban areas where infrastructure does not exist to support them—fire, emergency ambulance, etc for so many elderly on this road is not appropriate due to long call times as well.

This Development would violate the already compromised character of Gig Harbor.

We need more thoughtful and responsible development in our beautiful, rural area. Stop these huge builds!

Please retain the rural character of Gig Harbor and focus development in the Urban Growth Area where it belongs. Nature and rural communities are a significant attraction to Gig Harbor. You can go many other places to see what high density neighborhoods in the middle of rural areas looks like and what it does to communities.

If there are so many assisted living facilities closing as the owners claim; why not just purchase those? Starting construction without providing the proper permitting requests or getting approval and not working with our community will not win them any support.

The skullduggery of this enterprise should be enough to make the city council cancel this project! This is appallingly destructive to our community! This project needs to cease!

The safety of those who already live in this area should be put ahead of the development of these condos. The roads in this area are not build to support this kind of traffic. Adding some 100 plus residents to the area will endanger the children who walk to school along with anyone else who walk, runs, or bikes these roads. This danger is especially increased as the demographic behind the wheel headed to these condos is older. Those who live in this area moved here to be removed from high density housing. These condos are not wanted or welcome here.

This is awful and must be stopped

My family and I live on 38th Ave NW and use Olson and Murphy for bike riding, walking the dog and running. This development will absolutely obliterate our ability to enjoy our neighborhood due to increased traffic. Our’s and children’s safety will be in jeopardy.

Please stop the madness this town is not big enough for all these people what the heck are you guys doing! There’s got to be a way to stop this!

While living in Gig Harbor since 1973, I have seen how involved and organized citizens have prevented large complexes from landing and building in our lovely wooded surroundings. Being vigilant, knowing the zoning restrictions and informing us when a plan is "flying under the radar," and voting to close the loopholes - all of this is a part of honoring the city's values, while managing sensible growth.
