This is so wrong and stupid! I don't see why they fired him for getting a pack of 1 day old cookies to feed his family! They were in the trash, so why does it matter? He should not be fired for trying to feed his family. He is a very hard working person! In fact, I used to see him walking to work every day through rain and snow! This is so stupid the IGA should be ashamed! I will not be shopping there anymore for the way they treated him!

Give him his job back he didn't do nothing wrong he needs his job to support his family he has kids he needs the money to fed and bath them and to give them a good Christmas

I shop at that store and it's always been clean, the food is good and prices are good. I can't make it to pike or Prestonsburg all the time. Me and my family and other neighbors need this store. I'm sorry he got fired but if it don't belong to you then it ain't yours to take. Don't care what the reason is. A long time ago people didn't stick up for others who took things from others. They black balled that person. I've been starving more times in my life than I can count. Especially when my kids were young but I worked out the food I got from others. I cleaned friends houses, I mowed grass. I was never too proud to say I'll help if you can spare some canned goods or whatever. You can justify it all you want but when you take items that don't belong to you it is stealing. Have some self respect. Good luck finding another job because any business won't want you now that you admitted on camera you stole from your employer. And that you think it's okay. Who will hire someone that steals, gets fired and then tries to shut down their old boss? No one. I hope you learned your lesson. But I doubt it.

This is a shame!! People these days are struggling that have families!! Shame on you IGA !! You all should be donating this to employees homeless shelters!! You need to give Robert Brenards Job back!! It is Christmas time do you all have no heart!! This story made me cry!! I don't shop at one big local chain because they choose to take can food and freeze it that is running out of date!! Take and donate this stuff!!

I think they should give the emoyees the out dated food if they want it. there's no since in throwing something away just bc of a date on a box specially cookies that don't ruin...there's to many people in this world going hungrey to waste food like that.

IGA has definitely lost my business, no thanks, even if they give Roberts job back I wont be spending a penny there until their management is entirely revised, anyone this cold hearted doesn't deserve my business.
