We need your support to show the City of Toronto that there are many dog owners and local residents in Swansea that have no problem with and would like to keep an off-leash area for dogs in Rennie Park.

The Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Toronto are trying to close the off-leash area for dogs at Rennie Park in Swansea. We have until December 24th to let them know how many of us that there are who feel strongly about saving the off- leash area from closure!

Please sign this petition and pass it on for your friends and neighbours to sign!

(After you sign this website may ask you for a donation but you do not need to donate.) Thank you!

we had a dog off leash area right beside this space but the city installed storm drains and re claimed that space. we simply want and need an area to play with our dogs. i think this a reasonable and fair ask. we care about our neighbourhood and ask for a safe place for us to enjoy our pets.

I enjoy seeing the dogs playing in Rennie Park and on the Swansea field. I see it as more "eyes on the street" and a good thing for the neighbourhood. If there is a problem with noise and failure to "stoop and scoop", then let's deal with those issues and not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Closing the off-leash area at Rennie Park will not prevent irresponsible dog owners from using the park illegally (using it before 7AM, refusing to pick up dog feces, etc,). Keeping the off-leash area open will contribute to increase the safety of the park areas, especially for children. I am urging the decision makers to re-consider.

The vast majority of dog owners are responsible, control their dogs and clean up afterwards. A few errant dog walkers should not trigger a park closing any more than a few errant speeding motorists should result in the closure of an expressway

When we first moved to Swansea 6 years ago, the off-leash area is where I met all the neighbours. It's more than an area for dogs, it's also a meeting place for people.

I have a 9 year old dog who is taken to this place one to twice a day to go off her leash and play with other dogs without fear of getting a hefty ticket. In the 9 years I have been using this dog park I have not seen any negative consequences of having this dog park or by the people using it to walk their dogs. This dog park is a

We strongly support a dog off leash in Rennie Park. Rules can be made to keep everyone happy.
