Growing up in Redwood City as a child I remember ever Friday/Saturday nights Roller blading. This is were we meet our family friends and people of our community. The roller rink was one of the last places in Redwood City I feel is left from the days where a kid could be a kid and when our community was really a community. With everything within our once great community has now been demolished and new “advancement to some” have taken over the once small town community has disappeared and turned into a city for the wealthy and lost almost all the places and people that made this city so great. The roller rink is almost the last part of our community left. The roller rink should be reopened and saved. The it is the roots to the people that grew up in this city that love this city.

Growing up in Redwood City and returning home now means all the staples of my childhood have been either torn down or replaced with some tech start-up. Please preserve a childhood building that not only I, but so many others still love.

This should be a historical building. It was a safe place for children and my family has lived in RWC/SC forever. This needs to reopen for our children's children!

Roller rinks are the heart of any community and with the recent resurgence of global interest in skating you would be missing a trick in closing it down.

I grew up in Redwood City and this was a regular hangout for me and my friends. Can’t imagine what I would have been getting into if I didn’t have to joy and excitement of the the rink. My daughter who is not 13 had the chance to enjoy it with me and grew very fond of it as well before they had to close their doors. The rink means so much to so many people. It brings so much happiness to people of all ages and this is something we need more of especially for our youth.

I didn't grow up in the Bay Area but roller rinks played a huge role in my childhood. I spent many birthday celebrations at a roller rink and as a teenager spent many nights and weekends with friends at them. I am dismayed to see how many have closed as I have aged. I would also like to highlight the role roller rinks have played in Black American culture (watch "United Skates" for more information), American culture, and American music. I would love to see what a roller rink in the Bay Area could give birth to creatively speaking or be a haven for in the future. The closing of the rink feels like a shuttering of potential.

Spent many a Saturday afternoon at the Redwood Roller Rink in my youth. It is a great form of exercise and socialization in a safe environment for all youth. Please bring this back for another generation.
