Do it somewhere else! This naturally beautiful area is one of only two places nearby to escape the visual scars and mental anxiety from urban development and sprawl.

The greater Las Vegas region is already a massive strain on the environment in the American West. Las Vegas over uses water which causes rivers to run dry. Las Vegas produces large amounts of waste. And Las Vegas over uses power, which requires hydro electric dam construction, thus flooding canyons and disrupting river life. Don't let building in the red rock area further the destructive environmental tendencies that Las Vegas already demonstrates.

Red Rock National Conservation Area is a gem in our great country's park system. It, as well as the views from it and its surroundings should remain as wild as possible. There are many other directions to expand that do not encroach on such special, beautiful and meaningful land to so many users. Please expand in those other directions and not towards Red Rock. I visit from Michigan every year and one of the reasons I do is because I like the unobstructed views and untouched desert landscape. I represent tourist dollars to the area.
