While I might live in Oregon, I am a homegrown Las vegas native. I spent many days hiking red rock canyon with my family. I've done every trail and know it like the back of my hand, including the native plants, the "real" residents of the valley (animals), and find it absolutely appalling red rock is at risk. There is so much room in the valley, that Nevada should be more like Oregon and have a Urban growth Boundary to protect the land and it's species - there is absolutely not a single reason to have any houses there when there is already a plethora of housing available in Las Vegas valley. All for money and greed and any politician that allows this is only in the pockets of the developers. Shame that this petition even exists!!

The commercial and residential developments near Red Rock National Park and surrounding areas are out of control. The wildlife from those areas are now roaming neighborhood streets searching for food and places to hide. Pets and families are being subjected to nature's threats. Please stop the growth. Please conserve and secure the natural lands.

Please do not build homes in Red Rock. I lived in Vegas 6 years, it became my home. What I fell in love with was not the casino side of Vegas. I fell in love with Red Rock. I still holds the history of the West, and that is what people come to find, not just the night life. Please do not let this quality go by allowing society to move in the heart of that unique romance that can be found in nature, with peace.

I have traveled to Vegas many times with the sole purpose to climb and explore in Red Rock. By allowing high density infrastructure within such a close proximity to Red Rock Canyon, you would completely destroy the boundary between wilderness and city, thus ruining the park. Don't make this mistake!

Stop development from encroaching on this unique and treasured resource! Red Rock Canyon is enjoyed by not only countless outside visitors, but also residents of the Las Vegas area. It's amazing that this resource still exists so close to a metropolitan area. Keep it wild for current and future generations to enjoy!
