I do not want to see homes built at Red Rock Canyon. This is OUR Nature, a place to get away from the traffic and be able to NOT SEE houses, buildings and commercial development! Leave this beautiful place NATURAL! Please!!!

The Red Rock Canyon area is an invaluable community resource that should not be compromised to benefit a reckless developer at the expense of the great majority of the community and visitors. Red Rock is a rare and beautiful natural resource that provides an escape from the routine congestion generally encountered in the metro area. The Las Vegas Valley Sprawl has already expanded in an alarming and uncoordinated way. The unchecked growth puts an unsustainable strain on natural resources and increases pollution. The infrastructure in the southwest valley is already insufficient to support the ever-increasing home construction. Changing the rural zoning for the proposed development at Red Rock Canyon to one that allows for a mixed use community would simply be unwise and irresponsible. Vegas does not need to continue to sprawl. Approving the change or variance would be an insult to the community at large. I urge and plead that the rural zoning designation remain.

Do not approve any developments in Red Rock. Redrock Canyon is a treasure to the people living in Las Vegas as well as adestination enjoyed by millions of tourists.It brings a much needed balance to our city. Last thing we need is to develope this area, its raw beauty is stunning, unlike anywhere else. The camyon supports wildlife to many animals and is a source of great spiritual energy for all who visit.

Please do not let Jim Rhodes ruin our national conservation areas. And what about the water issue. We residents are urged to conserve water yet the county is willing to issue permits for thousands of new homes. Jim Rhodes should not be one of those building homes at red rock.

As a frequent visitor to Las Vegas and the surrounding area (from Canada) I would hate to see Red Rock Conservation Area disturbed in any way by commercial development. This is a gem that must be preserved for future generations to enjoy. So close to Vegas, so beautiful and unspoiled, please don't ruin it for commercial gain.
