We've all seen what the desert looks like near neighborhoods. Its littered with trash and large furniture where people go to dump it. Even though signs dot the roads, warning that no dumping it allowed, people still do it. This beautiful national park will end up the very same way. Littered with trash, animals driven out by the noise and activity, and rocks covered in graffiti. Keep the humans visiting this park but not living in it!

Save this wild place enjoyed by many Americans. We don't need more housing. We,ve been in our house for 25 years. As people upgrade to bigger houses for families, their previous house will be available. Also, igger isn't always better. You can bet that the people who want to put this development in are all about the money they'll make. They're NOT doing this for Americans who really need housing.

It will be a sad day when folks go for a hike in red rock and look over NV-159 and see a housing development. Red Rock is one of the precious few choices Las Vegas residents have to escape the city and enjoy the natural beauty of southern Nevada, and it should remain so!

Red Rock is my home, unlike other homes though it cannot be contained with roads and housing. Red Rock is wild and free. Its one of the best kept secrets in Nevada, yet so many people travel from all over the world to recreate here and eventually live. Its the only prestene place just a 20 minute drive from town. Red Rock means so much to so many people. Im apart of the climber tribe here in Vegas we try to do our best to preserve. I know that if the zoning is passed it will destroy the preservation efforts of so many groups and communitys. Please, everyone who has signed this petition is pleading. Asking that you'll understand, asking that you'll help us protect what is possibly Nevada's crown jewel of parks. Its a shame that not all of Red Rock and Blue Diamond hill are not a proper national park. Future generations of outdoor enthusiast have the right to share in the same experiences I have had in the park. Its their right as American citizens, and its our responsibility to protect them. That cannot and will not happen with major highways and housing inside what should be apart of the conservation area. Please think twice about allowing the zoning to pass. There are other more viable places to build more homes if Jim Rhodes feels the need to fill his pockets further. Please Save Red Rock!

As a climber I love the playground that red rock offers. As someone from out of town I can only imagine the positive economic benefit of such a place. Plane travel and tourist dollars from me, that would be lost without the attraction of red rock. While I like the city of Las Vegas I come primarily because of its access to out door activities. It is the balance of both forms of play that keep me coming back.

I am a realtor, and I have to say, this is outrageous. Some things should be left to nature. This is one of our only beautiful untouched areas left. Please do not develop here!! Take the build out further out towards CA or AZ border!

One of my all time favorite climbing locations. I'd hate for it to become part of the sleeping monster on the other side of the hill... All those foreclosed houses can't possibly be filled right?
