I go to Red Rock as my escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We don’t need another Starbucks or build homes that will destroy the place animals have called their home for years.

Save red rock and the animals habitat

Red rock is a truly a special place. Building any new developments in the area, especially on such an elevated visible location would take away from the remote nature of this location, forever damaging this place that so many love and come to for an escape from the city.

Red Rock Canyon Nation Conservation Area is a truly special place. It is not only an incredibly beautiful place to hike, climb, and explore, but its unique, awe-inspiring landscape is home to unique, threatened animals like the desert tortoise. Another aspect that makes Red Rock so special is how close to Vegas it is, but yet how removed it feels. By keeping the area surrounding Red Rock free of large scale housing developments and other projects, we can preserve this area for years to come for both human enjoyment and the survival of a vibrant desert ecosystem. Red Rock attracts millions of visitors a year, so keeping the surrounding area free of surer development will help continue to contribute to the ever-growing popularity of the conservation area. On a personal note, Red Rock is one of my favorite places and it saddens me daily to think of an exclusive, expansive development just across from the incredible sandstone peaks and canyons I’ve grown to love.
