I have been climbing for over 25 years and have always dreamed to travel to Red Rocks. The natural beauty must be protected. I am based in the U.K. But grew up in South Africa and we too have had to fight to keep our national parks save for future generations.

Las Vegas is slowing down as a gambling destination, and speeding up as an outdoor recreation destination. Preserve Red Rocks for a better economy!

Red Rock Canyon area is one of Nevada's gems. It's one of the things that makes the state beautiful and worth visiting. Zoning for housing in this area would needlessly disrupt a piece of natural heritage.

Red Rock is the most beautiful natural scenery that Las Vegas has. This should be preserved as a state park. No one should be allowed to destroy it.

Red Rock Canyon is an oasis in the Las Vegas area. Keeping the area rural -- as a treasure for locals and tourists, alike -- is a huge gift to future generations.

Red Rock is a beautiful natural refuge from air noise and light pollution, and an important part of the tourist draw that drives our economy. Please, let's not destroy Red Rock with short-sighted sprawl.

Please think about the future and the ramifications of allowing building in Red Rock Canyon. The landscape that is a boon to tourists and locals. It will be forever altered. There are few places left in Las Vegas that retain the rural past. Allow Red Rock to remain as it is, an area of quiet enjoyment. Spring Mountain Ranch was saved from development just as all the remaining area in the canyon should be.

Red Rock is an amazing getaway only 15 minutes from my home. I don't want one of the worlds most beautiful places to become a city itself. Absolutely terrible. There is a ton of space in the valley for people to live. Leave Red Rock alone.
