I love Red Rock. It is my spiritual center. I arrive each year to ride my bicycle in peace & solitude and communion with nature. Please don't allow its beauty to be destroyed by a completely unnecessary community filled with urban crowds & waste.

There are plenty of places to put developments without encroaching on this natural wonder.

Red Rock is a place where too many people, both local and tourists, come to view and take advantage of the opportunity to explore the beauty of the desert. So many of us hike, climb, or bike in this area it would be a shame to pollute it with development when there are so many areas surrounding greater Las Vegas that could be developed without a significant negative impact to people who enjoy outdoor activities.

Red Rock and its surrounding areas are a major attraction to both tourists and area residents. Developments would transform this natural gem into just another suburb.

This area is too beautiful to ruin with development. I bike in this area every week and would be significantly concerned with the additional traffic, my safety while riding and just the overall environmental impact to the area. We need to save this treasure for all of us who live nearby and enjoy its beauty while biking, hiking and exploring.

I was 2015 Artist-in-Residence at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The seclusion and quietness of the Canyon and the La Madre mountains is an American treasure, especially with it situated so close to a major metropolitan center. Please don't let the area be spoiled by direct development in the canyon. Humans and wildlife both need refuge, and the imagination thrills to encounter it. No doubt there is substantial profit to be made for development's investors, but their gain would come at the incalculable cost of ruining one of Nevada's true treasures.
Keep Nevada's nature beautiful!
