There's plenty of space to build houses that isn't next to an iconic outdoor recreation area. Red Rock is a precious resource and should stay wild for all of our enjoyment!

Some of the greatest memories of my life have been attributed to red rock canyon, and the thought of disrupting the majesty of the land with housing and commercial property would be morally criminal. Please, don't allow contractors to destroy the beauty that was millions upon millions of years in the making.

One of the most appealing aspects of visiting Red Rock Canyon is that it provides a much needed balance to the bustle of Las Vegas. Increasing housing development will tarnish the wild and untouched experience that that RRC provides.

A few points: 1. An increasing number of tourists come to LV to enjoy Red Rock. Others come for conventions, etc. and visit Red Rock as an important aside. Let's keep Red Rock rural to reinforce its attractiveness to this growing class of tourists. 2. As the overall population of LV grows, the roads leading to Red Rock will become even more congested. The planned development will accelerate the congestion, relegating Red Rock to the status of a city park. 3. At what point do we say, "Enough is enough! Let's keep pristine land pristine." 4. Once the proposed development moves forward there will obviously be no way to say, "Oops, this was a mistake" and then to halt the project.
Red Rock is more than a wonderful resource for our community; it is a blessing!

Once you develop natural treasures and rural areas, you can never go back. Ridiculous, all to make a buck. Push for increased density where infrastructure (roads,power,sewer, schools etc) already exist, spreading out developments is what makes sprawl and dismal cities! Learn from past mistakes, and save Red Rock, an incredible place that doesn't deserve to gaze down upon ugly tract homes build by short sighted developers and the local officials in their wallets!!

When we come to the Vegas area, it is for the hiking, climbing and mtb riding in and around the Red Rock area. Although the tourist dollars we climbers generate is quite small overall, losing the Red Rocks area would be a significant blow to the outdoor activities we come to Vegas to do. Las Vegas itself holds no interest for us and many of our climbing friends, but the surrounding natural areas do. Please protect them! Thank you.

Please protect this natural, peaceful area! Build south of it...or north of it...or east of the city! Building there will destroy the view and tranquility that makes Vegas special! It will displace animal habitats. It will prevent people from enjoying Red Rock Canyon.
Please build somewhere else.

I am an avid Red Rock hiker and would absolutely hate for this construction project to be approved. It would be ruinous not just for those of us who enjoy the tranquility provided by Red Rock Canyon but I believe the wildlife would suffer, as well.

This would completely ruin Red Rock Canyon as we know it. There are not a lot of places in Las vegas one can visit and feel as though they are far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is close and yet serene and peaceful. We value that as summerlin residents. There are already too many homes being built up there as it is. This needs to stop. There are many wild animals up there as well that are running out of they're own natural habitat. This is sad and disgusting. There are many other places Mr. Rhodes can build upon in Las Vegas. It doesn't need to be in our Canyon.
