Red Rock is a treasure. It's one of the the few escapes any of us in Las Vegas have to get away from the urban sprawl. There is so much opportunitiey additional for density in Vegas, leave the area around Red Rock alone.

Damn the corrupt, soulless BLM, developers, Nevada city and state officials! Over 30 years ago, they were supposed to have at least a two mile buffer zone, free of development from the Red Rock Canyon borders! Today, ugly development has been built right up to the Red Rock Canyon borders! I wrote an op-ed on the destruction and vandalism at the Little Red Rocks 20 years ago and how the Huges Corporation let it all happen and how they planned at the time to develop all of that sacred Paiute Native American ancestral land around there. The local Channel 13 News in Las Vegas even interviewed me, for an evening news segment, to show my paintings and to hear my environmental advocacy messages and sent out one of their helicopters to take aerial videos of all the destructive vandalism. I even painted a series of oil paintings depicting the Little Red Rocks in their natural state, in a time before European intrusion, which Channel 13 News featured, to try and get public awareness interest and stop any further destruction and development of the Little Red Rocks region. My efforts obviously fell on deaf ears and blind eyes, as apparently the apathy of the Las Vegas public has given a green light to the soulless developers, city and state officials and they won't stop until they have paved over every last inch of the Red Rock Canyon Conservation region, all for greed and vanity. If this nightmare development actually moves forward, it will threaten not only the immediate wildlife in Red Rock Canyon, but bring even more light pollution into the canyon region, which in turn will negatively impact all the nocturne animals and people alike. People had better start protesting this immoral and environmentally destructive criminal action and start bringing legal action against the city and developers to stop this travesty...otherwise this will be the beginning of the end of Red Rock Canyon for all future generations!
