I no longer live there, but I was born and raised in Vegas. My parents have lived there since 1964 and my father's masonry company is one of the oldest local businesses in the Valley.
Red Rock was an extremely important place for me growing up and I can honestly say some of my happiest memories are there.
Please don't allow it to become another suburban enclave.

The vastness of America has been churned into vast swatches of faceless, sterile suburbs; the contrast between them and our beautiful wilderness is obvious to us all. Increasing urban density and wilderness preservation is the only option to build the America of the next century.

I'm about to move to Las Vegas and I can't imagine how horrible it would be if Red Rock was gone.

Vegas is a great place for those who enjoy commercialized entertainment AND outdoor recreation. That being said Vegas already relies on external resources because, well, it's a desert and cannot sustain itself in terms of water, etc. already, so adding to the population while decimating one of the few remaining natural areas seems shortsighted at best.

I'm a true local that visits Red Rock on a weekly basis. It's the one place in Vegas I can frequent to avoid the chaotic challenges of the bigger city life. I want to preserve this land for future generations to embrace the beauty and calming serenity of this land. It's the one escape our city offers. I've watched this land be developed slowly but surely over the last decade or so and enough is enough. Please do not let anyone else's greed take away something we all have the right to share. Thank you.
