Selling our precious natural resources and encroaching on the access to them is short sighted and ultimately counter productive. These valuable outdoor resources shouldn't be sold off to the loudest bidder, but preserved and cultivate not just for nature's sake but for the sake of the larger culture of the city and the tourism we rely on. Look at Niagara Falls and the Canada vs. New York sides. One side turned to industry and private sales, the other preserved the resource with beautiful public parks. Now there are thriving casinos and businesses on the Canadian side while reviews for New York usually say "cross the border, it's worth it."
Save Red Rock - we have plenty of ways as a city to make long term investments in Red Rock vs the piecemeal sale of our great natural resource.

I’ve been a las Vegas resident for the past six years and red rock is a special place because
of it’s close proximity to suburban and city life yet still maintaining a wild and free feel of wilderness. Homes do not belong anywhere near Red Rock. Red Rock is a place where people go to explore the outdoors. This secluded environment should be preserved and kept wild for future generations to enjoy.

I urge our leaders to re-think our our urbanism. Red Rock is a national treasure and legacy to future generations. Less sprawl! Time for Las Vegas to grow upwards, to have better density, mixed-use urbanism.
