This home is historically important, Personally, I know the families that will be affected by its future. There are many memories and stories that would be lost if it were not rebuilt.

To be fair, McCardell has consulted the TN Historial Commission by phone and they have instructed him on dismantling and numbering procedures for preservation. However, to put the community at ease, it certainly can't hurt for THC to be invited to pay the site a physical visit. I believe McCardell is taking this very seriously and is probably a little miffed that the community doesn't think so. Maybe better communication is warranted.

My love of Rebel's Rest is close to our founding, heritage, and relationship to that cherished we call, "Sewanee," place, history, time, and future.

Sewanee has aways been very proud of their history it is one thing I love about this school if there is any chance of saving the building it should be made and if not a replication should be built. Don't lets the symbols of Sewanee traditions be destroyed!
