Let the baton of Railway be passed in the soft but strong hands and they will lead Railways to the eternal glory it deserves through pure determination and even purer hearts.

Growth Engine of IR - A Promotee Officer
A UPSC selected railway officer is the one who starts his journey with failure. No one prepares for UPSC to become railway officer. His dreams and aspirations of becoming IAS get shattered on the result day when he is allotted railway services. He carries the grudge, the rejection, the failure with him to the organisation and so is more nasty towards his subordinates. His attitude is negative towards employees. His basic presumption is the people will not complete the work properly. He acts basically as a hurdle for the organisation's progress.
On other hand a promotee officer is an outstanding example of success. He has cleared minimum 3 exams to reach this position. His success after success has given him the coveted position of gazetted officer. He carries a positivity with him. He loves his work because whatever he is, its because of his work. He treats subordinates more fairly and enjoys working despite negative approach of direct recruits.
Unlike directs who are an example of failure a promotee shares a partnership with organisation's growth.
