The trail under California law, qualifies as a prescriptive easement. Also qualifies for public use through continual use by the public in which the last two owners have not objected to equestrian use. Being an equestrian in California since 1972, I am aware the areas for horse trails are diminishing. These areas are no different than public parks , bike or jogging trails established for the use of the tax paying public. As the taxes in California are outrageous; these are being paid for inadvertently by the public. Equestrian groups will not stand down and let these areas go by the way side. The equestrianship is a part of California history. Sincerely, Janie Steinbach 951 833-0323 LS 8087

Please save the Santa Margarita trails that have been and continue to be enjoyed by equestrians, runners, adults and children. This is one of the most beautiful spots in San Diego County and it would break my heart to see fences and NO TRESPASSING signs go up where we all once enjoyed the natural beauty of Santa Margarita.

It is important that the public have access to areas where they can enjoy and understand our local natural world. There is so few areas where adults and children are able to "get out in nature" to better understand our role in conserving that nature. When we conserve so closely that no one is allowed into the area we lose that "love of nature" that is so important for true understanding.

As a devoted trail rider there are fewer trails as more land gets developed. And yet there are as more horses alive in the US as there were in the 1800's! Horses opened the west and are a huge part of the American tradition. It is a great loss for the country every time access is denied to areas where people were once allowed to ride on trails .

We love these trails and always end up tying our horses to clean up the trash from the locals who come there to party in the water.

There are only a precious few trails for equestrian to ride. Please record this easement to preserve the right for equestrians to use this trail in perpetuity.

Please keep these trails open to equestrians. We enjoy them very much and after our rides support local restaurants for lunch.
