I've just read of this possible travesty. I am praying and hoping that Preston, one of our community icons will remain open to support and secure the opportunities of the next generation. My hope is that this decision to close the school is not generated by greed to sell the property as has been stated upon the inception of this notice! That would be a shameful disappointment.

Closing Preston High School on such short notice is a disservice to our community, our girls and our faith. The Sisters of the Divine Compassion should come to the table in good faith, the same good faith that we the parents had when we entrusted Preston with our girls.

At a loss for words, such an abrupt announcement has affected so many families. We are distressed by this news and our hearts go out to the students, their families and all the Alum who have a special place in their hearts for Preston High School.

Preston Class of 1991 and my Goddaughter is a junior. Please let her and her classmates graduate next year together. Preston is an integral part of our community that not only educates our young ladies in academics but also in leadership, compassion and sense of community.
