As an 8th grade teacher who has a handful of amazing young students who were excited and eager to thrive at Preston HS next year I am sad by this news. I am a Bronx native who understands the reputation and impact Preston has on our community, closing is not an option. There are Alternatives to explore to keep Preston open for years to come. Let our great community come together and make it happen.

This news is heartbreaking. Throughout any difficult time in my life, it was my Preston family that came to the rescue. To say I/we feel betrayed by the Sisters of the Divine “Compassion” is an understatement.

This decision based on greed negatively impacts not only your students, teachers, alumnae, and staff, but the entire Bronx community which is already in a position of not having enough education institutions to lift up our children and young adults for successful and quality lives.

My class is one of the most supportive of the school, why were we not notified so we could pitch in to help raise funds and get grants and get the mansion designated a historical building so it won’t be torn down! I think that this is an atrocity to all us alumni and the present students. Shame in you!
