Preston has to survive for the generations of strong women it builds. Not one girl who graduated from there has a bad overall experience... only a lifetime of memories, friendships, and mental agility. If more school where like Preston we would not have the issues we she in today's youth. Class of 2000!

I am an alumni of Preston High School. To here this news is not only heart breaking, but it’s an end to a great education for so many young woman who deserve to succeed. I believe that the reason I am where I am today in my profession as an attorney, it is because of the education I received at Preston which allowed me to succeed. I believe that Preston high trustees should find ways and allow the alumni and community to help keep it open. If it’s a financial issue, that may be an easy fix. We should work together and keep Preston High School open for the future of all young women attending there.

My letter to the sisters: Dear Sisters, Thank you for taking the time to speak with us the other day, albeit it wasn't for very long or with full transparency. I hope you have seen all the emails and social media posts looking to save Preston. You have thousands signing petitions and hundreds of current students seeking your compassion. Is it still there? Is there not an ounce that feels that the juniors should at least finish their senior year? Our angle is our students. It's not to save our salaries or the view; it is to preserve the legacy you stand for, the one you created: to help young women be leaders for change in the world through dignity, honor, respect, and compassion. We can continue to do that. Do not ignore the finances and stats provided to you! Our numbers are good enough to sustain ourselves without the order. Create a new contract to buy the property that isn't one sided. If you can't do that, let us have the name Preston at least. Give us the dignity of that. Regardless, we will continue to protest. We will continue to fight because that's what a family does. WE ARE THE FAMILY. Peggy Morton would not stand for this and you know it. I just hope you will remain a part of this family. And to Sr. Laura especially, you came to my brother's wake when he passed away a year after I graduated Preston. You were the reason I came back to Preston. Your compassion you showed me was unmatched until yesterday when I lost all faith in the order. I just wanted you to know that.

Please keep this wonderful institution open. It’s a beacon for so many students. It’s a really nurturing environment where learning is like the air they breathe. Outstanding teachers and administrators.

I love Preston HS. It was my second home. I learned so much and I’ve become the person I am because of what I’ve learned at Preston. It holds a special place in my heart. Please do not close it down!!
