I am advocating for a sincere effort to try to save Preston from closure. At this time in the United States, when the Department of Education is being threatened with closure, an action that is being proposed without providing any meaningful solutions to fill the void that this will leave, at a time when women's rights have come under threat, it is of the utmost importance to keep our young women educated and informed and teach them how to critically think for themselves. It has never been more important to engage communities in a dialogue about the extreme importance of educating the next generations of Americans to the best of our ability. Please be willing to evolve out of this phase, try to find new and potentially out-of-the-box ways of keeping the school open; whatever has been happening is not working for the teachers or the students. Please be bold and forward thinking and keep the candle lit for the hope of the American Women of the future.

I feel in my heart that Preston should remain open for our community. Our son went to camp there for seven years. He actually was a counselor.

My daughter and I have planned our lives around her acceptance into Preston. It’s the last school in The Bronx that is safe for our girls and academically inclined to help our girls achieve greatness. Closing would be devastating for us hard working parents and daughters alike. We need this sacred institution in a society that is failing to keep moral and tradition alive.

12 years old, and my whole life, mostly since 4, I’ve always wanted to go to Preston High School. Now that it’s closing, I want to do anything I can to save it.
