This school should not be shut down. Children need to have schools to continue to receive an education.

My niece is a student and has found her passion of cheerleading by attending Preston! Please save the school and save the dreams of these children

How greedy are the nuns who put money before students, past and present, who love their school. Who the hell needs new condos, costing a million dollars and more, in this little corner of the Bronx! How are people affording this, especially in today’s economy. Let the school stand, continuing to educate women who will make a difference in life.

It will affect many current students and future. It’s a great school and we need to keep it open.

I can’t tell you how heartbreaking this news has been. Preston is a pillar in the community, a beautiful school that shapes the lives of so many. I for one didn’t realize the opportunity I was given until I went to college and it was a breeze for me. Preston got me involved in clubs, helped me make lifelong friends, set me up for the real world and I am a better person for it. The community needs this school and I know I for one would happily band together with my fellow Preston alumnae and do what I could to help save my old school.

My daughter is a Junior. Preston had a ceremony and gave her a senior ring and celebrated the future class of 2026. Keep your promise and allow my daughter to graduate from Preston! Preston’s sudden decision to close has broken the hearts and dreams of their students. This is unfair and sinful.

Very sad an institution that has been here for 75 years and is such a part of the community!!! Taken down by greed!! we are running out of places to send our girls.

Preston HS provides not just education but a strong sense of community, faith, and values that shape young minds for the future. Closing it would mean losing a place that nurtures both academic excellence and moral development—something truly irreplaceable.

This school is more than a building that teaches young women…. It is a family like atmosphere that helps develop personal growth and life long friendships among students and staff alike. I know from personally being an alumni and also taking part in the programs run on its campus that Preston is a place many young girls in the neighborhood schools want to go to continue their high school education. Closing this institution will have a huge impact on the community.

Three generations of girls in my family including my two older daughters graduated from Preston. Thanks to Preston, they all had/have excellent careers. My youngest daughter is waiting for her turn to attend Preston. It is like a Rite of Passage for her. Preston is one of the best high schools for the girls around and that school is Throggs Neck's rare diamond. Do NOT take Preston away from our girls. You need money? We will be happy to give you money to keep Preston running. Thank you.
