PROTECT POST 16 EDUCATION

CCC has decided to replace SFC contracts with Further Education (FE) contracts for all new starters at the SFC beginning this September. Initially, CCC also planned to freeze the pay of existing NEU members for three years. While CCC has since withdrawn the pay freeze, it continues to push for a reduction in staff terms and conditions.

The colleges that make up CCC have diverse and successful histories, each with its own strong educational ethos. SFC has always championed this ethos, creating an environment that gives young people in North London the best chance to succeed.

Cuts to the curriculum—such as reduced Guided Learning Hours (GLHs)—and to vital frontline services like counselling are seriously harming students’ learning experiences.

We the undersigned call on the management and governance of Capital City College( CCC) to

  1. Respect and uphold the SFC terms and conditions for both new and existing staff.
  2. Honour the National Bargaining Agreement.
  3. Stop and reverse cutting of essential services that support students’ educational journeys.
  4. Pay all staff a fair and decent wage.
  5. Offer permanent contracts to Hourly Paid Lecturers (HPLs) and Hourly Paid Support staff (HPSs).
