Portgordon Primary School is Included in the latest Estates Review includes proposals to close and merge Moray’s small schools and consider a main 3-18 campus in locations that cannot cope with the extra capacity. Our small schools are vital to our children’s education and the local communities. The Review is “educational” based but the Council has also announced the drastic cuts and savings they need to make. We cannot find evidence of the educational benefits of these proposals, only the possible savings made when closing a school.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge Moray Council to act now to reconsider these proposals, consider the effect on the children and communities and keep these small schools with excellent inspection reports
