When I was a kid there, it was amazing to have lunch with my mom sometimes. Please don’t change this. I am 27 now and still remember the feeling of having that chance to be suprised my mom to have lunch with her.

If they ban this due to safety, then they need to also ban access from parents to the following: 1. Very dangerous pick up and drop off line. The cars are right next to 50 plus kids all sitting there vulnerable to gun fire or mad rage parent to hits a bunch of kids with car. 2. Parents at awards assemblies or drama/performance shows. These have kids all sitting up on a stage. Could be very dangerous. 3. Parents at the fundraising run they have. They ask for volunteers etc. to raise money. All the kids in half the school are out there. Is money more important than child safety? Much more dangerous than a lunch visit.
3. Bus pick up and drop off. You would need to isolate that from the parents. No one can be in that front parking lot anymore. That gives access to person with gun outside and all little kids get off bus.
None of the teachers on teacher duty can stop anything I wrote above and nor can a resource officer driving all around and may be at other end of school.
Invest in a metal detector for entrance into school campus. This will allow safer visits. Otherwise, you have to also ban all volunteers or you are picking and choosing who you trust more between parents. Everyone on campus has had a background check, so why is a parent volunteer more safe than a parent visit from lunch? It isn’t. Anyone can have mental issues or have problems at the last minute. You cannot predict anyone.

Taking this away would be detrimental to your students and their families. It is so important for some kids. I’m sure there is another option.

Parents participation ia very important at school,
because it brings to the child trust, confidence and real love.
This is not replaceble by the school.

This ban is disgraceful. Clearly there is an agenda here which supersedes whats in the best interest of the children having lunch with a parent.

Parenting is as important as school for children education. If lunchtime is a suitable time for some busy parents, this should be respected. I cannot imagine any reasonable argument to prevent parents from seeing their kids at a moment where they are not taking classes or involved in other school activities.

There is such a demand on our children’s time away from home/family. The more we can provide this opportunity the better for their emotional and mental health!!!! Allow parents to meet their children for school lunch 1x per week for goodness sake!!!

This makes me so sad. I already feel like I am barely allowed to be involved on campus with my kids. While I don’t get to have lunch with them as often as I would like because I work, this just breaks my heart. My kids will be so sad.

I'm sorry Carlos. It cannot be a regular thing. The kids loose the only 20 minutes they have to socialize with their classmates. I am advocating for at least a day every week that parents can come have lunch.
